- amagerstrand beach – great summer hangout

- picnic in the park – “the picnic trick” as described by Allan, our Copenhagen tour guide
- superkilen park – a cool spot in nørrebro (insta-worthy)
- fc københavn soccer game – heard they are tons of fun!
- deer park – over 2000 deer!
- møns klint – beautiful white cliffs about 2 hours’ drive from Copenhagen
- forest tower @ camp adventure – on the way to møns klint
castles, museums, & towers
- amalienborg – royal palace (where the royal family currently lives)
- rosenborg – summer palace (beautiful gardens + crown jewels!)
- christiansborg – home to the danish parliament (also has a tower view of copenhagen)
- frederiksborg – incredible palace outside of Copenhagen in Hillerød
- kronborg – hamlet’s castle (Shakespeare!)
- round tower – great view of the city
- church of our savior tower – another great view of copenhagen
- louisiana art museum – a MUST! (modern art)
- lego museum – legos are danish 🙂
- danish design museum – so scandi
- national museum – danish history
- assistens cemetery – visit the graves of Hans Christian Andersen and Søren Kierkegaard, two famous Danes
danish delicacies
- kanelsnegl – cinnamon roll! invented in Scandinavia 🙂
- koldskål – cold buttermilk soup with kammerjunker cookies (a delicious summer dessert)
- flødeboller – chocolate-covered marshmallow fluff. my dream come true. great ones on nyhavn!
- chokoflager – dangerously delicious snack (can eat like chips)
- smørrebrod – rye bread with a topping (often herring)
- drømmekage – “dream cake” (a classic danish cake – yellow with coconut & brown sugar topping. YUM.)
- danish street hot dog – DOP has good ones (lots of stands in the city center!)
- rye bread – a danish staple 🙂
- carlsberg & tuborg – danish beers
- somersby – danish cider (elderflower is the best flavor!)
- mikkeler beer – another danish brew (find it in the meatpacking district & at warpigs!)
winter activities
- ice skating – frederiksberg runddel
- christmas markets – everywhere!
- copenhot – SO COOL
- absalon community dinner – a cosy winter meal shared with community members
- ice bar – fun one near gothersgade

- flæskesteg – pork rind with crackling (main Christmas dish)
- karamelliseret kartofler – caramelized potatoes
- rødkål – pickled red cabbage
- vaniljekranse – vanilla butter cookies
- pebernodder – gingersnap cookies (so snackable)
- julebryg – Christmas beer! released every year on the first Friday of November (J-day)

- risalamande – rice pudding (Christmas dessert)

- dej – pizza & brunch
- jagger burgers – upscale fast food (like gasoline grill)

- lagkagehuset – famous bakery
- juno the bakery – city’s best bakery 2019 (find it in østerbro)
- skt. peder’s bageri – wednesday snegls
- nicecream – delicious vegan ice cream! found in a few locations around the city
- desserthuset – fun milkshakes
- la glace – try their sports cake! a little touristy for me but a nice spot
